Fees, Rules & Regulations
Guidelines that ensure a focused and respectful learning environment for every student.
Fee Payment Policy
- Fees are payable monthly in advance by the 10th of each month.
- A late fee of ₹100 per week applies after the 10th of the month.
- Accepted payment modes: Cash · NEFT/IMPS · UPI (GPay, PhonePe, Paytm) · Cheque.
- Registration fee (₹500, non-refundable) is payable once at the time of enrollment.
- Annual renewal fee (₹500) is charged at the beginning of each academic year.
- Examination fees (Prayag Samiti / Trinity / ABRSM / Rockschool) are charged separately at actuals as notified by the respective board.
- Fee receipts are issued for all payments — please retain these for your records.
Refund & Withdrawal Policy
- Registration fee is non-refundable under all circumstances.
- If a student withdraws before the 10th of the month, no fee for that month is charged.
- If a student withdraws after the 10th, the full month's fee is payable.
- Fees paid in advance (quarterly packages) are non-refundable once the session has started.
- Medical or emergency withdrawals may be considered for partial credit at the management's discretion. Supporting documentation required.
- Course transfers within SMC are permitted with one month's notice, subject to availability.
Attendance Policy
- Minimum 70% attendance is required per term for eligibility to appear in examinations.
- Students must inform their teacher/college in advance if unable to attend a class.
- Makeup classes are not guaranteed but may be arranged at the teacher's discretion, subject to slot availability.
- Repeated unexcused absences may result in loss of enrollment without refund of fees.
- For Prayag Samiti and Western board examinations, the respective board's attendance rules also apply — students are advised to check these at enrollment.
Code of Conduct
- Students must arrive on time. Classes will not be extended due to late arrival.
- Mobile phones must be on silent mode during class. Recording of lessons is only permitted with the teacher's explicit consent.
- Respect for teachers, fellow students and staff is mandatory at all times.
- Students are responsible for the care of college instruments and equipment. Any damage caused must be compensated.
- Consuming food or beverages inside classrooms and studios is not permitted.
- The college reserves the right to suspend or terminate enrollment for misconduct without refund.
- Use of the recording studio and rehearsal spaces is subject to prior booking and payment of the applicable studio fee.
Examination Eligibility
- Only students enrolled in the examination-track program are eligible to appear in board examinations.
- The teacher's recommendation is required to register a student for an exam. This recommendation is based on the teacher's assessment of readiness.
- Exam fees must be paid in full at the time of registration — these are non-refundable.
- Prayag Samiti examinations: theory in December, practical in June/July. Registration deadlines are communicated three months in advance.
- Trinity / ABRSM / Rockschool: exam dates are set by the respective boards. Candidates are enrolled as per board schedules (typically March and November sessions).
- Students who do not meet the attendance minimum of 70% are not eligible to sit for examinations.
General Regulations
- The college calendar follows national holidays except Diwali (2 days) and Holi (1 day) — classes run on all other public holidays unless announced.
- Changes to the schedule are communicated via WhatsApp or notice at the front desk. Students are advised to verify before travelling.
- Disputes or grievances should be addressed to the college management in writing. The management's decision is final.
- SMC reserves the right to amend any of these policies. Updated policies are displayed on this page and at the front desk.
