About This Program
Music Production at SMC brings together creative technology and artistry. Students work with industry-standard digital audio workstations (DAWs) — learning recording, arrangement, mixing and mastering from experienced producers. DJ Playing classes cover CDJ/mixer technique, beatmatching, EQ/effects and set building. Sound Engineering covers the acoustic and technical side: microphone placement, signal chain, live sound and studio session work. Students have access to the professional audio and video studios at Katharas Studios — SMC's affiliated studio facility.

Who This Program Is For
Teens (16+) and adults. No prior musical knowledge required — curiosity and creativity are enough.
